Back In Person for our 10th Year! Join over 450 general and special educators, parents and other professionals from Central Virginia and beyond to discover how to better educate students with disabilities. Special Education & Inclusion Track (9 sessions) and a Transition track (6 sessions) for parents and educators of transition age (ages 14-21) students! 

Keynote and Lunch Speakers

 

Keynote Speaker
Michael McSheehan

With over 20 years at the University of New Hampshire as the Co-Lead at the Center on Inclusive Education at the Institute on Disability/UCED and helping to establish and lead the SWIFT Education Center, Michael now works as a private consultant collaborating with educators to enhance the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional experiences of students with disabilities.

Lunch Speaker
Caden Cox

Caden has been “kickin down barriers”. He graduated from York High School in Virginia where he earned the “Virginia 2020 Youth of the Year” award from the Virginia Division of Career Development and Transition.  He currently is a kicker for the Hocking College football team and is working towards his associates degree.

Registration Information

Early Bird $60/pp until 12/31/2022

($75 Jan1-24, 2023 and $90 after Jan 24). Includes continental breakfast & lunch. Must register by 1/30/2023 to guarantee food choice.

New virtual option – streaming of keynote and lunch speakers and one transition track and one special ed track recordings (6 presentations). Virtual cost is $40/pp until 12/31/2022 ($50 Jan1-24, 2023 and $60 after Jan 24). 

Online registration closes at 8am, February 3, 2023. Registration is not refundable. Conference scholarships are available. Certificate of attendance is available.

Adult Self-Advocate Volunteers

We value the self-advocate volunteers (age 18+) of all disabilities who volunteer to make this conference a success. We need volunteers to greet attendees, distribute tote bags and introduce speakers. If you are a self-advocate and would like to volunteer, register on the signup form or contact sklauer@virginiadsa.org
