Since our founding in 1983, our commitment to support, educate and advocate for individuals with Down syndrome and their families has remained the same. As we’ve expanded our programming over time, our reach has also expanded in the level of support we provide beyond the Richmond region. Today’s association serves more families than ever before. We currently provide program support and direct services to Richmond, Williamsburg, Charlottesville, Fredericksburg, the Shenandoah Valley, and Southern Virginia. And, we’re still growing. Incorporating ‘Virginia’ in the name allows funders, families, and partners to immediately recognize that we are a statewide network. More importantly, the name change lets the entire Down syndrome community in Virginia know we are here for you, too. You can continue to expect the same high quality array of services from our organization in Richmond, VA and continued growth and expansion of programs and services for all of our communities outside the Richmond area.
